Ironman Lanzarote
I noticed on the training rides a week before the race, this was going to be even more difficult than last year. Lanzarote is known for its wind, but it was blowing a lot harder this time
around. But no problems, it just makes it harder for everyone.
Come race day, I hade my race plan ready. With wind, it was important to be as aerodynamic as possible, and not spend too much energy battling the wind. So use a small
anough gear, and use the aerobars! Also, I had learned my lessons from last year and told myself to stay cool, eat and drink enough, even if it means loosing a few seconds here and
there and don't be so foolish to go as fast as possible everywhere, relax and recuperate on descents etc.
